Here at Eclipse Aesthetics & Medspa we offer many customized treatments to give your skin exactly what it is craving. Even better, you will be able to absorb 80% more of products due to our Microneedling procedure.
What Is Microneedling; how does it work?
Microneedling is a procedure that uses fine needles to puncture the skin and create a controlled injury in order to rejuvenate the skin. It can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, acne and body scaring, stretch marks, skin hydration, mild non-pustular rosacea, age spots, skin laxity, and pigmentation. This specific treatment causes microtrauma to the upper layer of the dermis which is the leading cause of the creation of collagen and elastin. The needles stimulate collagen by triggering the healing cascade with the release of chemical mediators. This promotes collagen remodeling. The treatment then allows for easy entry of skin care products. Mico Needling leaves epidermis intact so there is much less inflammation which means much less downtime.
Is it safe for all skin types; can it be done for everyone?
Yes, micro needling is safe for all skin types and colors. There is no risk of post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. After the procedure, the skin may be red and flushed in appearance. In the treatment area, skin tightness and mild sensitivity may also be experienced. The treatment cannot be done on people with scleroderma, collagen vascular disease or cardiac abnormalities, scars less than 6 months old, and fillers used in the past 2-4 weeks.
What happens during the treatment; how will I look after?
A single-use cartridge fine needle is attached to a pen-shaped device that has an electric motor. There are controls that allow very accurate adjustments of the needle penetration depth and speed. As the machine glides over the area; the needles penetrate the skin triggering the release of healing chemical mediators and softening scar tissue. During the treatment it is likely the client will feel little to no pain due to the topical numbing cream applied. For the first 1-3 days, the client’s skin will be very dry and may feel tight. Frequent use of a hyaluronic acid serum or other non-comedogenic hydrating serum will help alleviate this condition. The red appearance of the skin will vary depending on the treatment and depth of the penetration of the needles on day one. On day two redness or pinkness of the skin will be similar to moderate sunburn. Swelling may be more noticeable. Finally, on day three the skin may still be pink or have returned to normal color. Within several days to several weeks, the client will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance; however full effects do not appear until several months later.
